Have you ever felt a quiet pull toward something ancient… something that just feels right? For me, that pull was herbal medicine. Today, I want to share how I followed that calling—and why I began my formal herbal education at the Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism.

For years, I was drawn to natural healing but skeptical. Can plants really work? Then I realized: most medicine originates from plants. During my third pregnancy, I started exploring herbal remedies—making salves, learning how plants support stress relief, digestion, and overall wellness. I discovered that herbal medicine isn’t just tradition—it’s backed by science and centuries of use.

Herbs are not a replacement for modern medicine. Think of them as a preventative ally: nourishing, balancing, and protecting before issues become bigger. Modern medicine handles acute care and emergencies; herbalism shines in the steady work of building resilience, calming stress, and supporting long-term health. Together, they form a partnership: medicine when you need intervention, herbs for daily care. It’s not “either/or”—it’s both/and.

I wanted to go deeper—to truly understand the science and spirit of herbal medicine. That’s why I joined CSCH: to learn from seasoned herbalists, explore plant chemistry, and connect that knowledge to helping people thrive naturally. The school blends traditional plant wisdom with modern clinical training, offering a true deep dive into every layer of herbal medicine. The passion of the teachers and students is contagious—it’s a community rooted in purpose, curiosity, and love for the healing power of plants.

This is my journey: honoring tradition, embracing science, and empowering others with natural tools for wellness, creating a bridge between herbal and modern care.
